A big step for my littlest boy.

Pinewood Derby

Caleb and Hayden had their pinewood derby this weekend. We usually have fun at the races, but there is a lot of drama b/c Caleb cannot win anything to save his life.

One year they made a convertible top and a cloth seat for the car and a kid who used a sticker won best detail. One year his car was a cut out Mustang logo and Hayden won most original with an alien head. You get the idea.

Anyway, this year he finally won. He won 3rd place in his group - which is pretty good because there are a lot of kids his age. Hayden also won - 1st in his group of two.

Indiana Jones

Hayden got an Indiana Jones play set for Christmas. He loves it - it has the whip and everything. And look how cute he is.

Hayden's Party

Hayden finally had his birthday party right before Christmas. It is a terrible time to have a birthday but what can you do.

He decided this year he wanted a mummy party (don't ask me where he got the idea - I have no clue). Anyway, this gave us a great chance to have his party at the LASM. They set it up where we had Egyptian crafts (pharoah cuffs and collars, pyramids, and mobiles), then we were given a tour of the mummy exhibit, cake/ ice cream, and finally we spent a lot of time in the Discovery Depot.

The Discovery Depot has the coolest stuff that demonstrates different scientific principles. Sounds boring I know but it's not. The kids had a really good time and even though we were there for a really long time the boys still didn't want to leave.
